Public Relations

As a Public Relations Intern, I was responsible for planning and orchestrating a social media campaign to promote Hair Affair - a biannual runway show fundraiser event combining extraordinary hair sculptures with extravagant costumes.

After conducting research and analyzing the target market, I discovered that consumers were clamoring to see more of the event from a behind-the-scenes perspective.

Therefore, to boost audience engagement, I took care to produce social media content displaying costume sketches (showing "before" vs. "after" from previous years' best looks), as well as models readying their hair and makeup. But it didn't end there. Before and during the event, I uploaded content on the museum's Instagram Story and responded in real-time to viewers' questions on social media, keeping audiences involved and excited for what was to come!

Ultimately, the event was a stellar success! Hair Affair 2019 raised nearly $30,000, attracted 500 attendees, and generated significant earned media coverage in the form of print and TV stories from across the region.
